About the book

The book is written by Reinhard Längerich, retired Nordea banker. (Read his bio in LCV newsletter 1 – February 2005)

Most books about documentary credits primarily focus on the legal aspects and rules applied to specific litigation and disputes, thus dealing with the law rather than being practically oriented.

This book describes the use of documentary credits in practice and the problems that companies and banks alike will face when using this instrument. It is aimed at companies that are involved in import and export and either use documentary credits or need to know about them.
