| The first reactions from
the LC community: Dear Editorial Board,
This is most likely the hardest e-mail I have ever written. It is my sad
sad duty to inform you that Ravi passed away two days ago. I do not know
the exact circumstances, but I understand that he had a problem with his
heart.
I think that it is needless to say that I valued Ravi very much. His
enthusiasm and his drive were catching. From my point of view he showed
the LC world from a totally new perspective.
Latest his focus was on the UCP 600 - it is so sad that he did not live
to see it come into force.
I do not have an e-mail address for his family - but I will write a
letter of condolence. Should any of you wish to pass your condolences to
his family, please do e-mail those to me and I will enclose them.
At this point I am not exactly sure what this will mean to LC VIEWS, but
to me Ravi was LC VIEWS, so at this point in time I can not possibly
imagine that it will continue.
Thanks and best regards
Kim Christensen

Dear Kim,
I have just returned from Asia for UCP 600 workshops and a trip to
Harbin,China for the ice crafting festival.
It was a shocking news that Ravi has passed away so soon. I wish to convey
my condolences to his family through you. I hope the LC Views be continued
as this is beneficial to the LC community. I am glad to offer my help to
make it run in the future. However, this is subject to his family decision
in which we all have to respect.
I still remember Bernard Wheble's buddy, Mr.Gray Sinclair of London, running
a very good LC magazine in paper format. When Mr. Sinclair passed away soon
after Mr. Wheble left this world, the magazine was stopped. Later on I wish
to approach his family but nobody knows where to contact. And the magazine
disappeared from this world. I do not wish this would happen to Ravi again.
Best regards,
T. O. Lee
This is indeed very sad news. It will be most difficult to find another
person like him to spread the news on LC developments.
May his soul rest in peace.

Please express my sadness and sympathies. His
enthusiasm was catching and I always looked forward to his emails and
commentary.

Dear Kim,
I am saddened to hear about this tragic loss. In one of his recent letters
he did mention that it would help his treatment if everyone bought one his
books. Little did that I know that he would leave us all so soon for his
heavenly abode. May his soul rest in peace and may his family be comforted
by the knowledge that he had many devotees in the LC world.
Kind regards
ND George
Dear Kim,
this is very tragic news.
Please, express my sincerest sympathies and condolences to Ravi's
family. He was an inspiration to all of us!

Dear Christensen,
It is indeed a very shocking and sad news that our friend Mr. Ravi has
passed away. Even though, I had never met or talked to him but he was always
there when we needed him. It is a tragic loss and to LC VIEWS.
Kindly pass my deepest condolences to his family and friends.
Yours Sincerely,
A Majid Habib
Dear Kim and LC Views Members,
I'm greatly saddened by the news that Ravi is no more with us. He was full
of enthusiasm and his energy levels esp. for LC Views were amazing. I'm glad
that I had the privilege of a long association with Ravi and worked on few
projects with him.
I have his phone no and address in Florida, USA and I shall write to his
family.
sadly,

I am truly shocked and my words fall short to
describe my sadness. Although sad, Bazara is positive when saying let us
keep Ravi's dream alive. Let us keep LCView alive.

Dear Kim,
I could not believe it is true and would rather believe it is not true at
all when I opened my email box tonight in in China on my holiday. But it is
a saddest shocking news and fact I have to face: Ravi leaves us forever! But
his enthusiasm, his insight, his contribution to LC world will deeply rooted
in my heart, never passed away with time.
Please convey my deepest condolences to Ravi's family.
I hope LC VIEWS will continue as I believe it is also Ravi's wish. However,
I can not imagine what will it be without Ravi!
Sincere regards,
Jia hao
Hi, Kim, good day.
This is very sad... ...
[Ravi, I am sure you can still hear me... ...
I owed you so many deliverables for LCViews that I still haven't find time
to honour my obligations to you... As long as LCViews continue to exist, my
obligations to you would be honoured... You have my word for it.]
A great loss to the international LC community...
Kim, please kindly pass my deepest condolences to his family.

Dear Kim Christensen,
Thank you for your quick reply.
I am really shocked to hear Ravi Mehta has passed away as his exceelent
comments on UCP 600 posted on
www.lcviews.com seem quite fresh.
LC Views is very informative and helpful to LC community. I believe so.
Therefore, please maintain it at least as it is.
I am sure Ravi Mehta will be very happy to learn that after his departure LC
Views still exists and develops to a higher level.
Regarding my questions, your personal reply will be highly appreciated.
Best regards,
Nguyen Huu Duc
Kim,
Thank you for passing along this sad news. Ravi always had his heart in the
right place and his enthusiasm will be sadly missed.
We should all continue to contribute to LC Views and keep it alive in his
memory.
Best Regards to All,

I feel so sad to hear that. It is too sudden. I have
just written my foreword for his book two weeks ago. Please send my
condolences to his family.

Dear Kim,
Like Pradeep I was thinking of Ravi yesterday and was a bit worried why we
had not hear from him for such a period. The last communication with him
was on January 20, 2007. Eighteen days of silence was too much for us.
Actually I was thinking of sending a message to him today but really shocked
to hear the sad news of his demise. Ravi has been an energetic person and
very generous in sharing his experience with everyone. I started
communicating with him in Oct 2003. I can dare to say that he was the first
person I know that had a keen interest in the Middle East. He has done
every thing to enlighten us with his vast knowledge and endeavoured to
obtain other experts opinions to bring up our level of understanding Letters
of Credit.
We are all really in debt to him for his humble sharing of free but valuable
knowledge without any reservations and strings tied to it. To his memory
and dedication, the least that can be done is to keep his brainchild
e-magazine alive so that he remains in our souls and minds.
May his soul rest in peace. Please pass my deepest condolence and sympathy
to his family.
Best Regards

Dear Kim
I am deeply moved by this sad news.
Only yesterday at 4 pm in the evening that I mentioned to my colleague
Lakshman and other LC professional friends that Ravi is doing a good job.
This we were discussing In the coffee break of ongoing GTR event which is
running from 6th to 7th Feb at Jumeriah Beach Hotel. Please convey my
deepest sympathies to his family members. I am lucky that I had the
privilege of talking to him on the phone last year when I was in States.
Surely his absence would always be felt.
Zahoor
Dear Kim,
What an irony. Just last night I was remembering Ravi and sent him an e-mail
and to you for not hearing anything from Ravi/LC Views for quite some time
and hoping things were well.
And the first thing in the morning that I have come across is the sad, very
sad news about his sudden demise. Strange are the ways of World. I have been
knowing him through his articles for quite some time but my association with
him commenced only last year in the context of and connection with UCP 600.
Through LC Views, he was doing a pioneering work, no doubt. And we all owe
it to him and the LC World by keeping his memory alive by keeping LC Views
alive.
I shall be honoured to offer my humble assistance of any kind to LC Views.
Please convey my deepest sympathies and condolences to Ravi's family.
Sincere regards,
Pradeep Taneja

Words just could not describe how sad I feltl when I
had this unexpected news. As I have always mentioned to Ravi before, old
soliders never die, they just fade away. Ravi has just faded away with love
and appreciation from all LCVIEWS friends and readers, leaving us with his
in-depth LC knowledge and his enthusiasm in pulling all LC experts together
online.
Kim, with the full support from all LC friends and
contributors, I am sure that LCVIEWS will only enjoy its increasingly wide
acceptance and readership.
Please give my sincere condolence to his family.
