on ICC Opinion TA.621 (MAWB va. MAWB)
Dear LC Practitioners,
I would like to let you know that my opinions
about ICC Document 470/TA.621 (MAWB vs. HAWB) is supported by FIATA
although some bankers hold a different opinion out of their banker's
perspective.
The ICC Document 470/TA.621rev and the related
AWB as well as my opinions are attached herewith for your information.
As you are aware that L/C is not involving
banking alone. It also involves transport documents and transport
practice should be respected. A banker controlling the payment
button should not try to sacrifice the interests of the applicant
just for the purpose of achieving simplicity in checking documents.
Hope you will express your opinions through
your CC National Committee in this regard.
