| HE HAS
He has art of LC teaching. He has expertise of LC
dispute management. He has skill of LC knowledge management. He has
experience of LC consultancy. He has a worldwide good reputation for his
multifaceted competence, such as air, sea, surface and multimodal transport,
charter party, commodity trade, cargo insurance, Incoterms 2000, trade
frauds, China trade, risk management, mediation, arbitration and the civil
and common law perspectives on these subjects, as well as the East and West
cultures and banking practices.
HE IS
He is MAE, MCIArb, MITD. He is an inspiring trade
finance teacher. He is master of all LC-related subjects, and not Jack of
all trades. He is architect of developing countries' trade finance expertise.
He is one-stop solution to world's trade finance problems. He is
constructive critic par excellence in the ICC forums -he is not a yes man.
He is a good trade finance writer. He is expert witness. He is DOCDEX expert.
He is ICC's consultant in UCP revision.
HE DOES
When he writes, when he speaks, whether it is
classroom or ICC forum, he, oh God, is very frank and bold in pinpointing
the weaknesses in trade rules and practices, in other specialists' opinions
. For example, when somebody from Europe suggested in DC INSIGHT
discontinuation of "Negotiation" in UCP, he immediately dashed a "Letter to
the Editor", saying how relevant is "Negotiation" in Asia. His faculty and
tendency is to suggest loudly, at the same time when he un-reluctantly
criticizes, to the whole world - including world business organization named
ICC, to make rules clear, specific, and meaningful, and to make practices
right, purposeful and safe. He has facts and figures to support his
viewpoint. Some of the ICC opinions on maritime transport and cargo
insurance were later reversed as a result of his disagreement with reasons,
quoting the current trade practices and supporting authorities in articles
published in Documentary Credit World, LC Monitor, LC Update and Lloyd's of
London Press "Intermodal Asia" magazine. His efforts are appreciated and
encouraged by Maria Cattuai, the Secretary General of ICC and Charles del
Busto, the Chairman of ICC Banking Commission at that time.
HIS
His expertise is in great demand. Because his
expertise works, whether it is classroom, court or office. His expertise is
a solution. His expertise is cost-effective. His expertise is upgraded all
the time, not obsolete anytime.
HE AND THEY - COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION
You want proof of his expertise, his competence ?
One proof is what others say about him in the court of public opinion.
Others acknowledge his multifaceted competence. Their opinions have one and
the same theme - he is undoubtedly the world's best one-stop trade finance
expert.
Charles del Busto -Chairman of ICC Banking
Commission (1990-1996)

of his expertise on International Trade particularly for his knowledge and
experience in maritime chartering, multimodal transport, marine cargo
insurance, trade frauds, the China Trade, mediation and arbitration".
Jacob Katsman - Managing Editor, LC Monitor, Canada
"Mr. Lee's presentation is thought provoking and
original in its content. It brings to light not only problems with
documentary credits but also solutions that you could obtain only from
practical experience working in the field. I highly recommend it to both
bankers and traders who are serious about letters of credit".

T.O. Lee - he is without doubt a valuable person in
Letters of Credit community. I categorize him as risk management and
transport documents specialist. I miss his contribution to the DC-Pro
Discussion Forum - I like his challenging approach. I have attended one of
his seminars. The feeling of the audience is that he has undoubtedly a great
knowledge of the product .
Jia Hao, Financial Product Manager, Bank of China,
China
I always query Mr. T. O. Lee about many
controversial issues and learned from him and his informative website a lot.
From his relative comments I admire his learned mind with a large range of
knowledge including letter of credits law, international transport,
insurance, Incoterms, arbitration and so on. His comments are very
informative, pragmatic, logical and sharp, and even with some Buddhism
wisdoms sometimes enlightening me a lot. He can speak Chinese and English as
well as understand both eastern and western cultures quite well. So it is
his advantage for teaching both Chinese and English trainees without any
language and culture barrier.
R.S. Rangan, Head of Trade Finance, National Bank of
Fujairah, U.A.E.

T.O. Lee has a refreshing approach and brings to the
lecture a great amount of his practical experience and knowledge as an LC
Consultant. He is technically sound and has the additional advantage of the
legal background. He is not afraid to question the usual assumptions and
practices.

T. O. Lee is a sound and good speaker. He has in
depth knowledge of trade finance. He takes enormous pain in preparing
training materials. He has a good respect in the UAE and his web site is
being more frequently referred in our Trade Finance forum. He has been in
UAE many times for workshop and presentation and has been respected in this
region. His style is innovative and he is humorous and keeps the audience
well attracted to his presentation. He is eager to meet the audience's
expectation at all the times.
Kim Christensen, Trade Finance Specialist, Nordea,
Denmark
Even though there are things on which we do not
fully agree, I always enjoy his argumentation, knowledge and insight. I
surely have learned a lot from that.
HE AND COURT OF LAW
The other proof of his competence is his success in
the court of law. The following ten court cases, among others, he
represented are convincing evidence of his dispute management expertise. He
is expert witness. His this role is a witness of his LC competence. He is a
DOCDEX expert. This also proves his LC dispute management expertise.
