From 1999 to 2001 he had been appointed observer for the banking commission to the transport commission. From May 1995 until May 1996 he has been member of the official ICC Group of Experts on Documentary Credits and up to his retirement member of a group of experts from the Banking Commission answering educational queries on matters of interpretation of UCP. He has been member of the ICC drafting group on International Standard Banking Practice. He is still being chairman to the European Bankers Working Group on Documentary Business (the ex-ABECOR group on documentary business). He used to contribute to documentary magazines such as "LC Monitor" and "Documentary Credit World" and has been Austrian Correspondent to "Documentary Credits Insight". Since 1997 he was invited panelist on the Annual Survey of Letter of Credit Law & Practice held by the Institute of International Banking Law & Practice. Due to his retirement he is now concentrating his efforts on working with ICC Austria in documentary matters and is still holding seminars and lectures in Austria and working as member of the consulting group to the revision of UCP 500.
