Born in town of Lucerne (Switzerland)
in 1953.
Grew up in the German speaking
part of Switzerland, primarily in the canton of Lucerne.
After one year’s stay in
Charleroi/Belgique for a study of the French language and a half year’s
commercial course I was trained in Bank in Langenthal (now UBS) from
1970 - 1975. At the same time I went to the school of commerce.
In December 1975 I left my
home country Switzerland, moved to Denmark and got married with a Danish
girl, (still my wife). Our two daughters, now aged 23 and 26 years and
living in the same small town as we do make me enjoy 3 grandchildren.
In June 1979 I had learned
enough Danish to get a job in a bank, even the job was of a more
administrative nature. Sydbank supported me very well in my efforts to
learn the Danish way to do banking as well as “letters of credit stuff”.
And it was possible to get promotion, probably due to the fact that I
from the very beginning was very eager and enthusiastic to step deeper
into the secrets of handling letters of credit. So, I spent a
considerable space of time on that, not only during the normal banking
hours. When I’m not at work I enjoy sporting activities like soccer,
tennis and badminton.
In the past 5-10 years guitar
playing has become one of my favourite distractions.
